Afternoon Tea

Jodi arranged for Afternoon Tea for my sisters and friends for my birthday. What a sweet surprise! We were at the Grand America, it was incredible. So relaxing, as we enjoyed the harp player quietly playing in the background, we were served, tea, hot chocolate, or any beverage of our choice; finger sandwiches and then our choice of french pastries. What a fun birthday. Thank you sweet Jodi for all your hard work getting it all arranged. With all of our schedules it took her over a month to get as many of us as possible all available on one day, and then some of the invitees still could not make it. Thanks to all for coming and making the day so fun. It was so much fun we have decided to have girl get-togethers as a common event. Who's planning the next one??

Last put not least "a picture in the potty"

Thanks Jodi, Love you!!

Crazy Bed!!

This is a crazy story, enjoy!! If you want to purchase this bed, it's much cheaper than fertility treatments :) click here.

$35.00
posterity mattress bed set. (antique)
bicknell, UT 84456 - Mar 31, 2009

Looking for someone to finally take our family heirloom. This bed has been passed on for 3 generations. Over 68yrs old! My grandmother was in a polygamist group but was unable to have children for many years. She was sad for her husband as he had 7 girls at the time from his 2 other wives, and no boys yet. She supposedly had an indian friend named Hiopai, who blessed my grandmothers bed that she would be able to have children. (sounds crazy and weird but it seemed to actually work) My grandmother got pregnant and eventually had 5 sons and 2 daughters. She could not get pregnant except on this bed. It was passed on to my mother who had 6 children (she abandoned them when she left the polygamist ranch) and had me 6 yrs later with her new husband. She was able to recover some of her things before I was born, one of which was this bed. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in my early twenties, and underwent surgery and most of my ovaries were scraped out and removed. The doctor told me I would never have children... ever! I have never had any children until we were kicked out of our trailer home 6 years ago and stayed at my sisters house for 8 months. The bed had been given to my sister who never married, and my boyfriend and I soon found that I was expecting soon after we moved in. It was a miracle! We now have 6 boys (two are twins) and absolutely believe this bed has energy to help struggling couples out. My sister drowned a few months ago, and we have since sold the house and are living in a motor home and moving to Wendover and have no room for this bed anymore. Would like to sell or even give to someone who needs it. It is old, but in good shape, the mattress has a few stains but is otherwise clean, but slightly faded. There is a small rip on the side of the top matress, about 3 inches long. (I think from our cat who actually had 4 kittens on this bed) The box spring is very creaky and rusted, but sturdy, (my mother was over 300 lbs and my dad about 130, it is heavy duty) the bed posts need a little restoring, as there are some scrapes and scratches here and there, and some bite marks (I think from from our old dog skipper) I would like to sell the bed complete as I dont know if it would still work if the mattresses were separated from the frame. The top matress is heavy (about 75-100lbs I would guess) so bring a couple people to carry it. Thanks for looking. Miracles can happen.

The Beautiful Golden Gate Bridge

John and Brian making the girls nervous!!

Part of the crew with the designer of the bridge.

Woops, you get this one twice. Still learning!! :)

One of these "5 painted ladies" is the "Full House" house

The next few are some beautiful homes we saw in San Francisco

This is the cemetary that my Aunt & Uncle are buried - I thought this tree and the headstones were beautiful.

It's hard to believe but I am finally blogging. I finally was able to download some pictures. Instead of trying to make up for lost time I am just starting from here forward. My Aunt Bee died last week and last weekend John & I and some family members traveled to San Francisco to attend her funeral. Here are some pictures we took on the last day, I guess you could say on our way out of town. We didn't have much time to to play but we did get some siteseeing done.
